At the sound of your voice in the stairwell, you can hear the others here with you scramble into the hallway from the living room. The stranger looks up the stairs at you, then at the mysterious painting floating in the air. They look grim.

They step further up the stairs, ready to protect you from the painting. You're confused.

It's a ghost. You don't have any way to attack it, but there's some weapons in my duffel bag. I left it by the base of the stairs.
In one hand, they're holding a wooden baseball bat. You're not sure how effective that would be against a ghost, but you decide to trust them, as they seem pretty confident.
